Malaga Nightlife | Evening Entertainment
Considered to be the most prominent City in the Costa del Sol, Malaga has a vibrant and varied nightlife for all ages. Whether you fancy a night of Jazz; dancing into the early hours; sampling the aromatic and sensual delights of the local Tapas bars; or simply being entertained by the traditional Spanish Flamenco Dancers, Malaga has it all. The nightlife in Malaga tends to start quite late, often around 11 or 12, but goes on until the early hours of the morning, often through to 6 or 7 am.
Tapas is a traditional Spanish dish consisting of a wide variety of small appetisers such as olives, cheese, fried fish (baby squid) and snails, to name but a few. There are some truly fabulous Tapas bars in Malaga, the El Orellana being famous for not only having over 60 varieties of Tapas on the menu but also for it`s world famous clientele, consisting of global names in the music industry. It is also popular with Spain`s domestic celebrities.
The areas of the City wherein most of the nightlife in Malaga can be found include La Malagueta, which is the modern area of the City with trendy clubs that offer elegance and exclusivity for serious clubbers, whilst there are also some more traditional bars and restaurants. Alternatively, some of the very best venues are considered to be, Anden, Kiu, Liceo and these, amongst many others, can be found in the historic centre, Plaza de Uncibay.
If all night Flamenco is the entertainment of your choice, then Vista Andalucía may be ideal. This is not only the most renowned Flamenco nightspots in Malaga but the show is considered to have some of Malaga`s most famous performers. However, if Jazz is what you are looking for, then El Cantor de Jazz boasts a warm and friendly atmosphere and a superb variety of Jazz performances.
There is also a Theatre in the Province, Teatro Cervantes, for the thespian reveller. This was opened originally in the late 19th Century but was closed by Queen Sofia for many years, only to open again in 1987. There are programs in Spanish as well as Flamenco shows and during the winter season there are performances by the Malaga Symphony Orchestra.
The Costa del Sol is in Southern Spain, ensuring that the climate is pleasant all year round, with the hottest days being between May to October. Relatively little rain falls during this period and the temperatures tend to be around 70-80 degrees. This makes the Costa del Sol one of the most popular destinations for British holidaymakers, some of whom have decided to sell up and move to this wonderful city and make it their home.
