This hotel provides the seclusion necessary for a quiet retreat and a relaxing holiday. The 4 star Cortijo La Reina is encased in a garden and high trees due to being situated in the Montes de Malaga Natural Park. This enables you to go on extensive walks in order to soak up the area’s wildlife and nature. Being 800 metres high enables you to enjoy further views of the seas and valley surrounding the area. The hotel itself has many attractions such as the fireplaces, salamander stoves, a billiard room and games room. There is also a private restaurant and Andalusian kitchen which allows you to taste the local produce and cuisine. The hotel also has activities to keep their customers happy; these range from a swimming pool, a tennis court, minigolf, French bowls and a children’s playground.

Due to the size of the hotel, there are only single and standard rooms sleeping 1 or 2 people. The prices range between £58 to £61 (which includes a Breakfast Buffet). If you desire a Standard room without food this costs a lot cheaper at £46. However if you search around online and book well in advance, you can be sure to find some cheaper deals.

The beautiful setting of the hotel seems to capture the reviewer’s hearts due to is mystical and quaint feel. It is an excellent destination to relax and unwind due to its position in the mountains; many feel like they are returning to their roots by sitting by the quiet pool. Also the food is celebrated as being rich with flavours yet not costing too much.
